Esme Cardigan

I’ve worn this cardigan a TON ever since I finished it, so it’s safe to say I love it. This fabric has been begging me all winter to be made into the Esme Cardigan by Named, and it finally happened! I had to shorten the pattern by about 10″ because I didn’t have enough fabric for the neckband, but I still really love the length! And I thought about styling it with my maternity jeans, but y’all know I’m not wearing those because Hudson Pants are where it’s at for me this pregnancy.

I really wanted it to look similar to the Jenni Kayne Sweater Coat (photo on the left), and I feel like it’s pretty close! The Jenni Kayne construction of the coat is much cleaner looking, but I still really love mine. This fabric is so nice and it’s the Luxury Plush Sweatshirt Fleece from Style Maker Fabrics. Although it’s only available in a camel color right now…which is extremely tempting, if you know what I mean. 😉 I did wash and dry it a couple of times and it’s started to pill a little bit, so if you do buy the fabric, just let it lay flat to dry.

Happy Esme Cardigan sewing!
