I’ve worn this cardigan a TON ever since I finished it, so it’s safe to say I love it. This fabric has been begging me all winter to be made into the Esme Cardigan by Named (currently being edited by Named, I’ll try linking again once it’s released again), and it finally happened! I had to shorten the pattern by about 10″ because I didn’t have enough fabric for the neckband, but I still really love the length! And I thought about styling it with my maternity jeans, but y’all know I’m not wearing those because Hudson Pants are where it’s at for me this pregnancy.
I really wanted it to look similar to the Jenni Kayne Sweater Coat (photo on the left), and I feel like it’s pretty close! The Jenni Kayne construction of the coat is much cleaner looking, but I still really love mine. This fabric is so nice and it’s the Luxury Plush Sweatshirt Fleece from Style Maker Fabrics. Although it’s only available in a camel color right now…which is extremely tempting, if you know what I mean. 😉 I did wash and dry it a couple of times and it’s started to pill a little bit, so if you do buy the fabric, just let it lay flat to dry.
Happy Esme Cardigan sewing!
