I had to make one last winter garment before diving into my spring makes, and this Marlo Sweater was it! I’ve made the Marlo Sweater by True Bias 3 times for myself and 2 times for other people. That’s how much I love it. I was so inspired by others’ cropped black cardigans, and I decided that it would be the perfect closet staple. This is view A with 3.5″ added to the length, and 1″ added to the sleeves. I have a longer torso, and I wear mid-rise jeans, so that’s why I have to lengthen mine by so much. I sized down one size, to a 10, for a little closer fit.
This fabric is the See You at Six French Terry from Style Maker Fabrics. It looks like the color black is sold out, but there are lots of other great colors. Cotton Spandex/French terry is my favorite fabric to use for this pattern. It’s a great weight and you can use it for the whole thing without having to use a ribbing or different stretch fabric for the bands.
These are the buttons that I bought on Etsy for my Fairmount Shacket, and I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that they would work perfectly for this sweater too! They are the perfect black buttons and they’re great quality.
I’m so excited to style this with a lot more outfits for spring! It will work great over dresses and with shirts tucked into pants. I’m so happy to finally have this in my wardrobe.
