Grateful Every Day

grateful-1

I have been slacking on the Grati-Tuesday posts for the past two weeks because having a newborn is a little bit of a whirlwind. I was so grateful that my mom stayed to help with Braden all of last week. As we were sitting on the back porch on Tuesday (the day after we got back from the hospital), I couldn’t help but feel so grateful. It may have been the hormones catching up to me or just being so over whelmed with gratitude that it came out my eyes (in tears).

I was SO BEYOND grateful.

I was so grateful not to be in the hospital anymore. I was grateful that Braden and I were both healthy and that there were antibiotics that got rid of our infections. I was grateful that the NICU took care of Braden when I couldn’t for a couple of days. I was grateful that I made it through labor and even though it was a rough recovery, I was OKAY, and I had already made it through the hardest days. I was grateful to have this miracle that grew inside of me for 9 months, and it wasn’t just a figure of my imagination. I was grateful to have Dallas and my Mom, the two most patient people I know, there by my side to help me take care of Braden when I was still in a lot of pain.

I was so grateful that God had given me the strength that I knew I didn’t have on my own and that I conquered some pretty crazy stuff. I know that I have even more crazy stuff coming up in the future, and it’s going to require me to be patient and brave and really have a lot of faith. But I’m grateful that I know that I will never have to do any of it alone because I have such an amazing family and a Heavenly Father who is watching out for me, and isn’t going to make me do any of it alone.

I hope that even though there are things we all want for Christmas, that we take a minute to step back and realize how much we are already SO blessed with.

So, what are you grateful for today?
