Grati-Tuesday

I just finished writing down all of the gratitude questions from the blog post I found them on, cut them up, folded them, and put them all in a cute little bag my sister Lizzy made for me a while ago. So now I can just grab a question out of the bag, and I don’t have to worry about any type of order.

This weeks question: What challenge are you grateful for today?

Well, moving right in the middle of being pregnant is pretty hard. Being pregnant, in general, is a daily emotional and physical challenge for me. And the projects I’ve been working on over the past month or so are a serious challenge, especially since I don’t know when the end will be in sight because more things keep coming up.

Although all of these things are a challenge for me, I can also see how much I should be grateful for every single one of them.

We are moving because our lease is ending, and we really don’t want to be stuck in Cedar for the rest of our lives. It’s a huge blessing that we have had this amazing apartment to live in, with stellar landlords to go with it. We are grateful that Dallas grandparents are letting us stay with them through this “limbo” period of our lives (hopefully just until January). We’re also moving to St. George, which is warmer, with less (if any) snow, and his grandparents have a pool. So I think I will live. 😉

I am the luckiest person to have gotten pregnant so quickly and that I am still pregnant. I know so many that struggle with that, and even though pregnancy and labor scare the heck outta me, I am grateful for the opportunity I have to bring life into this world. Hard as it may be. (literally crying. ok. deep breath.)

God has impeccable timing with all of the work that I have gotten. I started the projects at the beginning of my 2nd trimester, and they will (most likely) be over by the time I hit 3rd trimester. Even though it has been challenging work, and a lot of it, it at least happened when I am feeling the best. Apparently God knew that we would probably end up needing this, and I am so grateful he is watching out for us.

So there are the three challenges I am grateful for today, but I probably should have just picked one… Oh well. Don’t feel pressured to have to think of more than one.

I want to know – what challenge are you grateful for today? Let me know in the comments and be sure to check the “notify me” box. 🙂

  1. Today, I am grateful for the challenge of having three children. Although I have only been doing it for just over two days now, it is so hard to balance everyone's needs right now and help everyone feel loved and important, but I am so grateful for three healthy, beautiful children to love and care for. They are such a blessing to me and help me grow in a way that nothing else could.

  2. I'm so tired!!
Probably NOT as tired as Skyler though. Children are the BEST reason to be tired. Penny advise: find a way to take…make a few minutes for yourself each day. Even if it's just for a short nap 🙂
I've finally been getting some much needed work done in our yard this week…a little every morning. And, Lizzy and I just painted two bedrooms in two days…swapped the furniture in the rooms…Lizzy also painted some of her furniture today…other contents from the bedrooms are lining my hall and living room. Need one more coat of paint in one closet…paint a dresser…put bunk bed back together…put everything back in rooms…etc, etc. Glad we're doing this Before school/work starts! It's been fun working on this with Lizzy and we take lunch breaks watching the Olympics. She loves to watch the volleyball 🙂 I sure love her, she's wonderful!
