Today I am grateful for the close relationships I have with my family now that I am older.
In high school I wasn’t a real barrel of fun when it came to hang out with my family. For some reason, being around my family made me irritated, and I just could not stand them… Thankfully, I have grown out of my angry teenager phase.
Even when I was in college and I visited family, I felt that I had created a bad habit of not being very kind to my sisters, and it was a really hard habit to break.
This past weekend, we went up to my family’s house to hang out, and I can happily say that I didn’t make anyone upset. It was surprisingly easy to be nice to them.
I always regretted not being kind to my family, because I do love them and I don’t want to be the ornery older sister the rest of my life. I also don’t want to be that person when I’m a mom some day.
I am really glad to have a good relationship with them now, and I hope that I can continue to have a good relationship with them.
So, here is to the families who support us and love us even when our angry teenager years go a couple years into our twenties. 🙂
What is it that you are you grateful for today? What have you noticed this week that you are grateful for? I would love to hear what you are grateful for in the comments.
