On Sunday during church, the teacher read this quote:
“What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday.”
Now, even though it would take a heck of a long time to thank Heavenly Father for everything that I am grateful for every day, it is important to remember the things that I have throughout the day and appreciate them.
Today I am grateful that I was able to figure out something for dinner without making a trip to the store. I’m grateful that I was able to go and watch Dallas play at Guitars Unplugged (he made the lyrics up in like in hour, and they rock). I’m thankful to be in college and getting an education. I’m thankful that I can cut Dallas’ hair and save us $20 a month (that kids hair grows too stinkin’ fast).
Those things aren’t amazing by any means, but every one of them makes a difference to me. My house is full of things that I am grateful for, and I have so many people I am grateful for.
So even though you can’t possibly thank Heavenly Father for every single thing that you are grateful for today, think of a few things. Then tomorrow when your going throughout your day, take a minute to think about what you are grateful for in that moment.
It might even brighten your day a little. 🙂
What are you grateful for today? I would love to know in the comments!
Today, I am grateful that I can change my attitude. I have been pretty ungrateful and really quite grumpy lately, but yesterday I remembered what President Monson and President Uchtdorf have both said about having an attitude of gratitude, so I decided to try changing my attitude to one of gratitude, and honestly it made a difference in my day yesterday. It is amazing how when I think about the things that I do have instead of the things I don't, I am a much happier person.
I totally agree, Sky. That is a lot of the reason I do this every Tuesday. I know I need this, but I hope that others find it uplifting and it helps change their attitudes too. Thank you for always sharing! 🙂
