Grati-Tuesday

I am like 110% grateful for peaches being on sale, but I have something else that I have been very grateful for lately.

I have a calendar in our room that Dallas’ mom gave us last Christmas, and I always forgot to change the month. So last week I finally changed it, and the picture for August is a big hand lettering of the words “DREAM BIG”.

It kind of just hit me after looking at it for a second that it is a huge blessing I have to be able to dream big and go after what I want in life. Not only do I live in America, but I was raised in a good family where both of my parents have college degrees and I had everything that I needed growing up.

I was watching Sweatshop – Deadly Fashion Episodes 1-5 (watch it if you have an hour to spare) a few weeks ago, and after watching I realized lucky we are to not live in a country where your main focus in life is working incredibly long hours, doing the exact same thing all day, just so you can have some money for rent and food and try to survive. There was a girl in the last episode who had been sewing the same seam on the same kind of shirt for 14 years…Oh, and they work 12-14 hour days, usually 7 days a week.

That isn’t even a life! Can you even imagine?

We live in a country where we can dream up anything we want, and we can make it happen. So whatever you dream of doing – learning to play an instrument, starting your own business, graduating college, having a popular blog, learning how to sew, traveling the world – dream it big.

Because you can.

That is why today I am grateful for the opportunity to dream big.

So, what are you grateful for today?  I would love to hear it!

  1. I always love your grati-Tuesday posts! (Even if I read it Wednesday morning instead) I am grateful that my green beans in my garden are producing really well, and I am grateful for routines. I LOVE summer, but Maben went back to school today, and I am trying to dwell on the positive aspect that the kids and I can get back into a good routine again. 🙂

    1. And I always love when you comment and tell me what your grateful for! (No matter what day it is) I'm glad you're green beans are doing so well! It always nice when the things you plant actually grow. I love routines too. It may mean I'm exhausted at the end of the day, but I know I will be accomplishing a lot more. 🙂 Love you Sky!
